Report on Annual Award Function 2019 – Academic and Industry Awards

A magnificent congregation was held on 24th April 2019 in Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha’s Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research for Women where the young talent of the institute were appreciated for their outstanding efforts in the academic year 2018-19. Also, corporate entities and personalities were recognized and conferred upon them awards for their persistent contribution in their respective areas.

There were different categories of awards namely Gold medal, All Rounder Student Award, Best Outgoing Student Award, Most Promising Student award , to name the few. And for corporates award categories and winners were as follow:

Life Time Achievement Award to Mr. Vinod Bodhankar, Best CSR Award to Expleo India, Best Industry Mentor Award to Mr. Bipin Gurujee, Best Woman Educator Award to Dr. Medha Tadpatrikar.

For the annual award function Director General of Maratha Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mr. Prashant Girbane was invited as a chief guest. Along with him, Director Dr. Jagdish Pol, Mr. Prashant Brahmankar, Managing Director of Expleo India, Mr. Vinod Bodhankar of Sagarmitra and Mrs. Shilpa Deshpande were present on the dais.

The chief guest Mr. Prashant Girbane shared his thoughts and gave motivational speech to all. And then it proceeded with distribution of awards.

HNIMR Student’s on Educational Visit at ‘Labour Court & Industrial Court’

Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha’s, management college – “Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research for Women”, did always believed in giving practical exposure to students through ‘Industrial Treks’ and ‘Study visits’ along with conventional classroom teaching.

This time to improve students’ understanding of statutory compliances, Labour Laws and dispute settlement machinery, the institute took them on ‘Educational Visit’ at ‘Labour Court and Industrial Court ‘.

This trek was arranged on 1st March 2019, wherein students observed closely the proceedings in Labour Court and Industrial Court rooms. This visit gave conceptual students clarity on:

  • Enforcement of various Labour Laws.
  • Role of HR in minimising the Labour disputes.
  • Cases filed in Labour and Industrial Court.

Industrial Trek at ESI Corporation

On 12th March 2019 HNIMR students were at the regional office of ‘The Employee State Insurance Corporation’ for educational trek.

Mr. Chandra Shekhar Patil, Asst. Director ESIC oriented students on benefits of ‘The Employee State Insurance Act’, why it is needed and the applicability of the provisions of the act.

He gave tips to our ‘future HR managers – our HR specialisation students’ about practical criticalities while dealing with cases of ‘insured person’ under ESI.

He also briefed students about the current and future initiatives which ESIC is taking towards reducing the complexities of processes and improving facilities at the ESIC hospitals.

Report of National Conference 2019 “Leveraging the Best Contemporary Management Practices in Business Management.”

The National Conference was organized on 12th and 13th February 2019 on “Leveraging the Best Contemporary Management Practices in Business Management” at HNIMR.

The purpose of this conference was to provide a basis for a continuous exchange of ideas among corporates, academicians, participants and students.

The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Rajeshbhai Shah- Director- Jairaj Group , Hon. Prof. N. D. Patil MKSSS – Vice President and Dr. Jagdish Pol – Director HNIMR.

The two days conference had various sessions. On first day, Prof. Varadraj Bapat, IIT Powai shred his views on Indian Financial and Business Model. After that Mr. Rahul Lale. AVP Bharat Forge Leveraging briefed contemporary practices in Operations Management . Then Strategies to face contemporary issues in HRM was discussed by Ms. Sonal Athvankar. Mr. Sajid Pathan, CEO and Co-founder of Business Analytics Consulting Group explained various Contemporary IT tools and Techniques for leveraging management practices. Finally Mr. Sarang Kulkarni, a digital marketing consultant for Graphinet solutions Pune briefed Digital marketing practices to meet future challenges in business with participants.

On day two, Mr. Avinash Likhite, Ex. AGM (W/h & Ops- SCM, P&SC), Tata Motors Ltd explained Supply chain management practices in the auto industry. Mr. Keshav Tamhankar, Founder Director, Spectratek briefed Strategic management practices for sustainable business management. At the end Entrepreneurship development topic was discussed by eminent women entrepreneur Dr Jyoti Gogate. This session was followed by valedictory session.

The entire event was coordinated by Dr. Sonali Parchure, Mrs. Ranjana Gogate , Mr. Prashant Mamarde and Mr. Ganesh Lotke under the guidance of Dr. Jagdish Pol

Book Exhibition was organized on 4th and 5th February 2019 BY HNIMR LIBRARY.

HNIMR Library organized BOOK EXHIBITION on 4th and 5th Feb 2019. Inauguration of the exhibition was done at the hands of the Director of the Institute Dr. Jagdish Pol.

The subject of display were mainly management and allied subjects like general management, personality development, biographies, company profiles, aptitude tests , etc. Renowned publishers from the Publishing Industry like Tata McGraw Hill, Pearson Education, Sage Publications, Oxford Publications, Viva Books, Vikas Publications, Cengage Learning, Himalaya Publications, Amacom Books, etc. were invited to present their leading titles and fresh editions related to management.

The vast array of new and forthcoming books on display and, most important of all, the chance to see the publishing world in action was the highlight of this Book Exhibition. Faculties could browse different titles related to their subjects in management and the same were recommended for Library Purchase.

This two day Book Exhibition was coordinated by Librarian, Mrs. Manjushree Nawale and library staff under the guidance of Director, Dr. Jagdish Pol
