Congratulation to HNIMR Students

A team of first year MBA students of MKSSS’s Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research for Women (HNIMR), Pune has been awarded Second prize in Apna Sapna Money Money competition and third prize in Apna Ad Ayega competition. This intercollegiate event MAVEN-2020 was conducted by SPM’s Sir Parshuram College, Pune on 16th, 17th and 18th January 2020. Students were awarded with Certificate of Merit and Trophy by the organizing institute. Success of competition winners were appreciated by Director in Charge the institute Dr. Mihika Kulkarni and all staff members of the institute. They were encouraged to participate in future intercollegiate events.

REPORT ON FRESHER’S PARTY (Novato Fiesta)

The fresher’s party which was held on the 30th September 2019 in the auditorium  of HNIMR which was organized by the Cultural heads – Jai Mithare, Shradha Jamdar and Rekha Singh, Supriya  Sonkusre with the help of the other student Council Members and Volunteers. The Cultural Faculty – Prof. Geeta Jadhav, Prof. Manasi Javadekar and Prof. Priyanka Potdar, Dr. Archan Pradhan assisted us in organizing the event.

It was a themed based party and the theme for the evening was ‘’Indowestern’’ We were joined by our Director – Dr. Jagdish Pol and faculty in welcoming the ‘juniors’.

It started with a bang, with the cake-cutting ceremony after which all the fresher’s were seated, and the compeer of the night – Shradha Jamdar and Rekha Singh took over.

After the warm welcome, the day began with a ramp walk by the Juniors for the title of ‘Miss Fresher’ who were judged by  Miss Universe Mrs. Pallavi Koushik and Corporate Mrs. Sharmila Apte the corporate and Mrs. Pallavi Gadgil (owner of Pallavi Creations ). The full day was filled with incredible solo and group performances put up by the Seniors and Juniors. However the performance of the day was the one put up by the Student Council Members. They performed committee wise and there was a group performance as well which was enjoyed by one and all present. The Council members rocked!

In between these performances the girls competing for the ‘Miss Fresher’ title were shortlisted on the basis of their talents and the question and answer round. The judges Mrs. Pallavi Koushik, Mrs. Sharmila Apte and Mrs.Pallavi Gadgil finally crowned ‘Miss Diksha Meghani   as ‘Miss Fresher 2019’.  Shivani Ghavate,  Stuti Kothale were selected as runner up for this competition. The best personality as per the theme, was awarded to Miss Anuja Desale.

The rest of the Day, Games and DJ   was played good music which kept students on their toes. All the students present danced to every beat and enjoyed to the core.

After all the dancing everyone was exhausted. Food was delicious. The desert at the end completed the meal. Everyone left the premises happy and contented.

Report on MBA Pilot Study Programme’19

HNIMR welcomed its new batch with an MBA Pilot Study Program held from 16th Sept, 2019 to 1st Oct, 2019. Director of the Institute, Dr. Jagdish Pol briefed the students about the legacy and their role as HNIMR students. In this Pilot Study Program various Corporates and other resource persons enlightened the students by delivering sessions on Inner Excellence for Self-Empowerment, Business Intelligence, Mind Mapping technique for Career Roadmap, Design Thinking, Artificial Intelligence, Corporate Etiquettes, De-stressing through Zumba Dance etc. Parents Meet was also conducted by the Director – Dr. Jagdish Pol & the CDC- Chairman Shri N.D Patil on the first day to get the Parents acquainted with what their ward would be doing in the coming 2 years. They also briefed the Parents about the various Social Initiatives undertaken by the Samstha and thus appealed them to contribute to the noble cause.

The MBA Pilot Study Programme’19 concluded with a warm welcome from the MBA Seniors through Welcome Party- “Novato Fiesta “on 30th Sept’19.

Teachers’ Day Celebration at HNIMR

Teachers’ Day celebration at HNIMR was held on 5th September 2019. The event was organized and conducted by the student council members. The event was graced by the presence of the Director, Dr. Jagdish Pol by offering flowers to seek the blessings of Anna Karve, Baya Karve and Goddess Saraswati. On behalf of all the students, the anchors of the event formally welcomed and introduced all the Teaching and Non-Teaching staff and honoured them with momentoes and roses. The celebration included performances and poem recitation by students and speech on the importance of teachers’ day. On the occasion of teachers’ day Director, Dr. Jagdish Pol enlightened the students with his vast experience, expressing the importance of teacher in one’s life.

GANPATI FESTIVAL CELEBRATION

HNIMR is rich with its culture and values along with strengthened academics. This year too, the institute celebrated its Ganpati Festival by installing eco friendly ganpati idol on 2nd Sept. 2019. The students of the cultural cell with the help of admin and non teaching staff decorated the venue for Ganpati arrival. The celebration lasted for 3 days. The institute had a vibrant atmosphere through out for 3 days with ganpati aartis, delicious Prasad and blessings from Lord Ganesha. On the third day i.e. 4th Sept. 2019 all HNIMR staff and students participated in the Ganpati immersion. This year, HNIMR payed tribute to the flood affected areas in Maharashtra by carrying out the immersion process in silence without ‘Dhol – Tasha’ and ‘Phetas’ which is the traditional culture during the Ganpati Festival. Thus, students were made aware of their social responsibility during the entire Ganpati festival.

Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction-Mahatma Gandhi

India’s third national festival, Gandhi Jayanti, is celebrated by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of our nation-Mahatma Gandhi. At HNIMR, Gandhi Jayanti has been celebrated a day prior, on 1st October, 2019, with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism.

As a part of celebration, students present have decided to eliminate the use of single-use plastic. At MKSSS’s HNIMR campus, segregation of solid waste has been done effectively and efficiently for years now.

The celebration concluded with the favourite Bhajan of Mahatma Gandhi. The celebration ceremony was successfully held under the guidance of Dr. Jagdish Pol and executed by the CD Cell.

Celebration of National Unity Day on 04.11.2019

“Manpower without Unity is not a strength unless it is harmonized and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power.” Sardar Patel.

India  is  a  secular  country  with  diversified  cultures  and  the  significances  in  their  own  kind.  As an attempt to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, the country celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel on 31st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). In line with the celebrations countrywide, on 4th November 2019, Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha’s Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research for Women following the directive arranged ‘PRATIMA POOJAN’ in the Institute’s premises in order to extend heartfelt appreciation about the life and the involvement of the great leader, Sardar Patel, in the honest contribution during the freedom struggle and to lay a foundation of a unified country fused with oneness. The idea was to impart in the values integrated with the knowledge and adoration about the country’s rich heritage.

On the day all the faculty members, staff members and students of the institute were briefed about his contribution towards India’s Unity, Safety and Security.

The programme was organised under the guidance of the Director Dr. Jagdish Pol by Community Development Cell.

Celebration of Gurupornima on 16.07.2019

‘To gurus, with reverence’

In adherence with the tradition of respecting gurus for their invaluable contribution in shaping the minds and characters of young people, the teaching and non-teaching staff along with students of MKSSS’s HNIMR has observed Guru Purnima by doing the Pratima Poojan of Bharatratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve on 16.07.2019.

An auspicious start with students welcoming Director, teachers and other staff followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony along with Ashram Geet.

Director Dr. Jagdish Pol enlightened the gathering with the sharing of his thoughts about the guru and efforts taken by the honourable Anna.

Programme concluded on the note: May the gurus continue to shine and be the guides and torchbearers of society!

 

‘BOOK SHELF ACTIVITY’ was organized on 17.10.19 for MBA Students by HNIMR LIBRARY.

The Guest and Judges for the event were Mrs. Suvarnareha Jadhav, a renowned educationist from Mumbai; Mrs. Sarita Chitodkar, a renowned entrepreneur in Pune and Dr. Medha Khasgiwale, an accomplished artist in Pune.

The main objectives of the event were to make students read reference books in management and allied areas and also make them understand ‘How to write a Book Review’ and to make ‘Power Point Presentations related to the book chosen’. 183 students were divided into 15 groups and each group had to choose one book of their choice. Each group had to choose a group leader. They had to read the book and make Model, Poster, Power Point Presentation and also write a review on the Book. Management Lessons learnt from the book was the most important aspect of the activity. It was a competition and prizes were declared to best group presentations amongst 15 groups. Apart from top three and consolation prizes, special prizes for Innovative Model, Innovative Book Review and Innovative PPT were also given.

Dr. Jagdish Pol, Director, HNIMR highlighted the importance of reference reading and importance of leadership, team work, planning and execution for management students for success in the long run in the corporate world. Judges too were overwhelmed and appreciated the efforts done by the students.

The event was an excellent platform for students to browse and read different books related to management and allied areas, study different aspects and research perspectives related to management, public speaking confidence and stage daring, and also a lesson to work and adjust in teams to achieve success and overall grooming of the students.

The event was coordinated by Librarian, Manjushree K Nawale under the guidance of Director, Dr. Jagdish Pol.
