‘BOOK SHELF ACTIVITY’ was organized on 17.10.19 for MBA Students by HNIMR LIBRARY.

The Guest and Judges for the event were Mrs. Suvarnareha Jadhav, a renowned educationist from Mumbai; Mrs. Sarita Chitodkar, a renowned entrepreneur in Pune and Dr. Medha Khasgiwale, an accomplished artist in Pune.

The main objectives of the event were to make students read reference books in management and allied areas and also make them understand ‘How to write a Book Review’ and to make ‘Power Point Presentations related to the book chosen’. 183 students were divided into 15 groups and each group had to choose one book of their choice. Each group had to choose a group leader. They had to read the book and make Model, Poster, Power Point Presentation and also write a review on the Book. Management Lessons learnt from the book was the most important aspect of the activity. It was a competition and prizes were declared to best group presentations amongst 15 groups. Apart from top three and consolation prizes, special prizes for Innovative Model, Innovative Book Review and Innovative PPT were also given.

Dr. Jagdish Pol, Director, HNIMR highlighted the importance of reference reading and importance of leadership, team work, planning and execution for management students for success in the long run in the corporate world. Judges too were overwhelmed and appreciated the efforts done by the students.

The event was an excellent platform for students to browse and read different books related to management and allied areas, study different aspects and research perspectives related to management, public speaking confidence and stage daring, and also a lesson to work and adjust in teams to achieve success and overall grooming of the students.
