The Women’s Leadership Lab (WLL), championed by Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management & Research for Women is designed to be a one-of-a-kind research lab dedicated to gender and empowerment. The aim of the lab is to tap into the rich social capital within the community of women to undertake high quality empirical research on gender issues with a special focus on the workplace. The WLL will work towards creating a community that supports this goal, creating opportunities for women from all strata of society to conduct research. The WLL will also work towards exposing the students of HNIMR to empirical research methods and tools, adding to their academic experiences and opportunities as students of this institute. Though setting out to be a producer of quality research and academic content, the WLL will also arrange and host high-visibility events, seminars and training programmes.

Short Note on Session conducted in Collaboration with
CESS Nuffield – FLAME University

On 22nd November 2018, the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences (CESS) Nuffield – FLAME University collaborated with HNIMR to conduct a research session on the topic “The Linguistic Relativity of Collective Cognition and Group Performance”. Headed by Dr. Pete Aceves from the University of Chicago and Dr. Pavan Mamidi, co-Director of CESS Nuffield –  FLAME University, the aim of the project is to discover if the language we speak influences the manner in which we think, namely how language shapes the collective cognition and behaviour of groups. The study saw the successful participation of bilingual students from HNIMR. CESS Nuffield – FLAME University and HNIMR have planned more collaborations that will be rolled out in the coming months.
